hi purchased a 2.3 straight 6 z3 2 weeks ago & although it 16 years old & i think been standing a while changed disks,pads & shoes & a good clean runs v.well although when warm stalls when driving away from a standstill ..read the excellent article about cam sensors in zroadster so thats my job today the other thing i think the dif has a low ratio as at 60 mph at 3000 rpm feels like it could do with another gear ( its a 5 speed box ) would like to know what other guys think .anyway suns up but cold so im off outside now to change these sensors

Welcome Jim,

Just changed a cam exhaust sensor on my 2.2 and made a big difference. Agree with you about the gearing, always felt like mine needed a 6th!

And yes, even the 1.9 feels like needing a 6th gear, but they're borned at the time of "5th gear"! It's one of the small annoying things each car has in order to not be perfect!

Hi @lucky jim welcome too from me near Lincoln. My 2000 2.0 was prone to stalling when the inlet cam sensor failed, a good starting point. Have you read the codes at all?
