Hmm hold on, that's nearly a meter, for just the back pipe, where is that attached to? somewhere deep under the car I haven't a chance of reaching?

Best ask Tony for advice on flaring.

I kept it simple by buying pre-made sections. And will do the same next time too.

Backplate to flexi-hose. It bends up much smaller.

Well, I did manage to remove the nasty 16mm bolts, seriously, why didn't I think of tuning the wheel?!? probably because I had made sure the wheel was 'locked' before lifting the car...

Anyway, all off, but now I'd like to remove and change the wheel arches (I have clean ones from @spurs fan in a coupe ) but I'm completely stumped by a PLASTIC bolt of all things. that one just won't bulge, no socket, pincers will turn it. Really annoying.

I also noticed the arch from the driver side is held by ONE 10mm self taping, plus that plastic bolt, nothing else! Nice work, whomever reassembled it last time :/

The good news is that the new front brackets DO work with the 300mm discs, now I'm getting paranoid about everything. How do you guy get anything done when each bolt is fighting with you?

If you turn the plastic nut hard enough and it’s seized on then you will snap the thread off.

So dremmel, chiesel or cut off instead.

New ones are only a few pennies.

Mole grips or hammer a slightly smaller socket on

So, I've given up on removing the arch covers; I don't want to have yet another 3 jobs that somehow invent themselves if I do that!

I've removed all calipers, brackets and discs, cleaned the hubs, rust proofed them and sprayed them with stone guard. And I started to refurb the rear calipers, cleaned and rust proofed the rear brackets. Took me a good 1/2 to remove one of the piston, of course, nothing is ever simple ;-)

I had a look at the rear pipes, and changing them entirely would require going under the car really -- it looks to be JUST out of reach, so I'll just make patch sections as I was planning, and I'll have them inspected by my garage.

So now, hopefully, once the pipework is done (I'll practice on sprare bits of tubing!) no more surprises; it's a question of setting up, reassembly, flushing.

Famous last words!

Did anyone mention a pressure bleeder? Invaluable thing in my opinion, never used to think so until I got one, and now wouldn't be without it. Doesn't get used a lot, but really good when needed.
Yes I bought one from amazon, the one with a hand pump. Tested it by itself and it seems OK, so I'll use that!

Glad to see you managed to remove the 40watt lightbulb from the braking system..... It's always hard to get to, that one..
I had a box of them, but I've been chewing on them as I worked to go over the frustrating bits. Helps a lot!
