Italian trip 2019

We just got back off our 3rd trip to the Italian Z3mendi annual reunion. A great weekend on great Tuscan roads with people we now class as good friends. The finale took place on The Piazza Michelangelo overlooking Florence with a performance by a local choir and The Carabinierri band. We were given an award for travelling so far to take part.

Looks a great trip, pity it is so late in the year. I am off to Tuscany next June.

We visited a 13th century abbey on the Saturday morning, where there is a sword stuck in a rock with a story similar the our King Arthur of Camelot. About 100 Z3s in convoy with motorbike outriders closing off side roads and roundabouts to keep us together, then when we arrived we parked up 2 abreast on the approach road. It is quite a sight to behold.

I think YOU should organise a UK Zorg group of Z3s to attend one year?
Would be hell of a trip.

Would love to do this but next year is already looking very busy. Do you have dates for 2020 yet ?

No firm dates just yet but it is likely to be at a coastal resort next year and will be around the end of September. I will post on the forum when it is firmed up.

It is quite an adventure. From our place the trip was 2550 miles this year. We had one night in France at a champagne vineyard where the owner was short of staff so he got our breakfast. Another night just through the Alps in the Aosta Valley in an out of season skiing hotel. A double room for €55 including breakfast with a free upgrade to a room with a mountain view from the balcony. So good we stayed there again on the way back and got upgraded to a room with a balcony big enough to hold a party on.
We came back over the St. Bernard Pass through torrential rain but still good fun
They would love to have more cars from England and I can vouch for their hospitality. All in I reckon it costs between £2500/£3000 including the tunnel, tolls, fuel, travel and breakdown insurance. It could be done cheaper and I would be happy to work together to keep costs down if anyone wants to come but I would draw the line at camping.
Next year I plan on visiting the Ferrari factory and museum in Modena on the way down and the Ducati factory and museum in Bologna on the way back.

A long trip and £2500 plus. Wowsers. I know the 10 Euro run through Holland and in to Switzerland was expensive but not that much. End of aseptember is normally the only date I can get both Goodwood and BMW but in 2020 that might not be happening. So fingers crossed.
