You will always get some oil and shmutz in the intake from the breather system. It's quite normal. The intake valves get cleaned by the fuel from the injectors.
That's one of the issues with the newer direct injection engines. Carbon the intake valves can become and issue since they don't get...
I dont think broken chains or guides on these engines are unknown or uncommon unfrotinatly. And when it does happen the valves hit the pistons and its failtal.
I was never happy with the hot start and a few items from the first tune on this engine. I ended up taking it to SCS Delta who made the ECU. They are based in Norfolk so it makes it even easier.
They just called with some bad news as they are limiting the engine. I am simply running out of...
Mine started with the M54 intake manifold swap and being depressed. A few percent power increase wasnt going to cut it so things spiraled from there. I am reaching the end of the line though. After this I cant see anything else I really want or could upgrade. All I could think of is a full cage...
Started collecting parts for the next upgrade. I want to increase the strength of the diff and cc joints. Already lost one joint.
I have been doing research and have an E36 M3 Evo 210 LSD diff and E32 drive flanges.
Diff will require a 4 bolt input flange and custom mounts. The E32 flanges...
I had the spring and pin that hold the hand brake shoes fall out once. It laid in the bottom of the disc and made a fair amount of noise until I found it.
I love turbos but that adds another level of work, money and pain. I put a turbo and stand alone ECU on my car a few years ago and never regreted it.
There is a lot of E30 people who boosted the 4 cylinders with good results.
Anyone after some 330i calipers?
Rebuilt a few years ago and come with brackets. Direct bolt on and just need bigger discs.
I upgraded again to bigger Porsche Bembos so these are now surplus. Already have a set on the Misses car and they are much better then stock.
Spare wheel was gone when I got the car. Previous owner put quad exhaust on the rear trying to mimic an M.
Exhaust was nice but I passed it on as I couldn't get something suitable for the turbo to fit without relocating the battery and lots of work.
Have you removed and cleaned the idle air control valve? It is below the manifold and I had one stick a few years ago. Just washed it out with carb cleaner and it worked as good as new.
It just has a little flap that should move freely on its own. Maybe it has gotten dirty and sticky when cold.
Latest addition is an oil cooler. Fit quite well but the engine bay is getting pretty crowded at this point.
I also fitted a remote oil thermostat so it only cools when the oil is hot.
You can find quite a few videos online about removing the door handle to change the gasket. A few years ago my drivers door was difficult to open. I found the outside handle has a small arm that pushes on the inside mechanism. This wasnt pushing enough for whatever reason. I ended up just gluing...
