Just think we’re now being taken for a ride full stop. Bought some things on Amazon back in May, razors and shaving cream doubled in price from £7.00 to £14.00, sack of dog food gone from £35 to £42, 5 litres of brake fluid ,last year £17 same product and supplier now £30 ,is Brake fluid produced in the Ukraine? Some garages are just taking the p*** now and still charging near £1.80 when many are 10 or 12p cheaper., and its not just because they are still using old stock as some of them are on main road busy sites.
The other thing I have noticed is that since the Issa brothers have 'bought' Asda, they are much slower to reduce prices than they used to be. Asda often used to really drive the prices down. That will be the same Issa brothers with a chain of petrol and service outlets round the country, but that's probably unconnected.
That's where we buy our fuel and have done off and on for over 30 years. Dave Roberts on the A41 just outside Whitchurch. He has a small fleet of fuel tankers so he collects his own supply from the refinery at Ellesmere Port and also sells in bulk to haulage companies as well as running smaller tankers delivering domestic heating oil.
