Connection #10
Hard plastic pipe from center bottom of manifold to port on VANOS:


Connection #11
Large vacuum hose from power brake unit to valve just right of throttle cable/body


Connection #12
Pressure regulating valve (CCV) underside of manifold to Y connector on oil dipstick tube




Connection #13
Blue vacuum hose (fuel system breather/vapour) to port on left rear of manifold


Connection #14
Plug from Engine Wiring Harness to socket at left rear of manifold


Connection #15
Engine Wiring Harness plug to Idle Regulating Valve socket


Connection #16
Plug originating from camshaft sensor to socket on bottom of Engine Wiring Harness


Connection #17
Vacuum line from Fuel Pressure Regulator along firewall to top rear nipple of injector fuel rail


Connection #18
Very thin vacuum line from upper left side of firewall to port on rear of manifold


Connection #19
From Intake Distribution Piece, between 1st and 2nd cylinders, 90 degree quick connect to Y in hose (CCV)...







Connection #20
Vacuum hose from rear of Intake Distribution piece to port on #19 hose (CCV)

Good work man, nice detail. I did this last weekend on mine chasing out some vacuum leaks. Worth noting all the electrical connections can only go in one place as they all have various notches so you cant mix them up.

P.S - 16 is the camshaft sensor.

The blue line is the fuel system Breather/Vapour

20,19,9, 12 are all parts of the CCV system (separates the oil vapour and vacuum)

Be nice to check all your hard work with a smoke tester to make sure its all buttoned up. Recent work on a 2.2 with air leaks pinpointed the leaks straight away, saved a lot of time.

Thank you for the insights! I have added your changes and suggestions to the original posts. I appreciate your time! BTW, I finished the whole job today. Turned the key and it started right up - I was floored (and relieved)! The power change with the M54B25 manifold is noticeable and it is terrific to know that the cooling system is completely overhauled. So nice to have it back on the road!

That would be great to know how to do that. Where can I find more information on the smoke test?

Is this still an open discussion? Did we ever find out where the little hose to the vaccuum valve switch went?

I believe this is the correct diagram?

You can make your own smoke tester have a look on youtube loads on there. I used a five lite empty new paint can to make mine
