A year 2000 1.9. Cat D ( couldn’t see any damage on the video)

A lovely blue 2007 3.0 si Z4 Coupe.

Take a look at their website. They take online bids too…….

It would be very easy to write-off a 1.9 today. It would only require some very light damage.

My Range Rover was written-off in November. I put it back on the road for less than £300.

It says”Category D Insurance Loss. Vehicle Damaged But Repairable - Insurer Decided Not To Repair”
Not sure exactly what Category D or N mean but the auction estimate for the car is £2.8 - £3.8k

A category D car is "one that has been written off by the insurer but the damage it has suffered may be relatively light". So, it could be a simple as a broken part that is now more expensive than the actual car (or insurance value), e.g. a bumper, bonnet, etc. By the time you add the part, plus re-spraying, that might be uneconomical for an insurer. I've had damage to a light assembly on my Mercedes that would be uneconomical to fix by an insurer if the car was 24 years old...

I don't see anything major looking at the photos and video, but who knows?

I would love the Japanese import, but the red interior (including steering wheel) is not my cup of tea.

Granted, taste is subjective, but… :arghh:

So do I. Please buy it to remove it from temptation!!! 🤣 Having just bought Gookah’s fantastic 2.8 there’s no way I could afford/get away with it but I still can’t help looking…
I’d love to, but I’ve just seen my gas bill, so not happening unfortunately

Cat D used to be for minor damage and is now called Cat N. N=non structural damage
CatC was more serious damage that could be repaired, now called Cat S. S= structural damage.
Cat B remains the same, very heavy damage where the car can’tgo back on the road but parts can be used.
Cat A is pure scrap, not even partscan be reused

I don't know if any of you follow Mat Armstrong on YouTube but seeing some of the cars he's repaired and got back onto the road is amazing

There's a few others too

According to their site it was unsold, personally I think the the estimate was a little optimistic, selling for as little as £5500 on a well known auction site.

Never seen a Z4 coupe that wasn't a wreck for as little as £5500!
Like anything they are about just never when you’re looking! one sold for £5400 last week with only 80k on it, certainly wasn’t a wreck, if you have the budget for over 11k you could purchase an M for not a great deal more , again if you have the funds to run one……
