Well this last week was spent sorting the garden out. I built the summer house a good few years ago now along with the decking to the front.
The centre area had been in a 6 years and just looked alittle tired along with the raised beds that i knocked up that where now past their best.
Added a concrete floor and a lick of paint to the summer house to refresh it and decided to freshen it all up.
Two skips and 60hours later we went from this.

New Zealand is at level two and this weekend is the first that we were allowed out to socialise. Sunday was a wonderfully fine autumn day, so Shirley and I took the Z3 out for a topless run in the Timaru countryside. Not any cars around, so we could just do our own thing. Cruising along at 100 km/h was the fastest I've been in 8 weeks. Pure bliss.

Looking forwards to being able to go where and when we like mate, will be a while here yet though I reckon. Any civil disobedience over in NZ Murray?

Not much in the way of civil disobedience in N.Z. Just a few large house parties and people not social distancing going to MacDonald's for their fast food fix when it opened. There were a few illegal community roadblocks stopping people moving around in some communities in level 3 and 4, but they have now gone. People have been very good during lockdown.

That’s good to hear. It’s not widespread over here but there some “agitators” out there including Corbyn brother.

I went for a nice little 60 mile drive around the Surrey hils today, a beautiful day and traffic not bad but I noticed that all the car parks were crowded. Nowhere to stop and go for a walk.

In Queensland we can now travel 150 k's from home or 500 k's if you live in the outback. Our little town, Stanthorpe, pop about 5000, is back to not enough places to park in the main street. Some cafe's and other small businesses are shut but they are using the time to get reno's done. The tourists will be back soon - for the wine. I took the Z for a run down the highway and the truck traffic to Sydney and Melbourne was all travelling at 120 kph plus. A Kenworth bumper above your boot does wonders for the blood circulation.

I fear it could be too much, too soon. Time will tell. Hope i'm wrong.

Here's a bit of positivity - watch the bees do their stuff, listen to the birds and neighbours kids. 9 Minutes of relaxation filmed in the garden this afternoon.

If we had Crickets here Niall, we could close our eyes and imagine we were on the pool deck in Kissimmee. Very peaceful.
Just missing the occasional throb of a Harley rolling along the 192 ..................
Well, a bloke can dream.;)

Finally got the old bike I bought set up to my liking. Found some 8 speed Campagnolo Athena ergoshifters on the net. Campagnolo monoplaner brakes in the south of France.A 30 mm deep rim in Holland to build onto a new old stock 8 speed Campagnolo hub and a Miche 8 speed cassette that fits it. Plus a new Selle Italia gel flow saddle.

That’s looking good, the saddle that I had on my feather weight racer in the 50s was much narrower at the back but can’t find anything on the net that looks like it. Was always told it was the type that Reg Harris had

Bottom bracket and original crankset are now off the bike. Bit of a fight to undo one side as my bottom bracket tool made a mess and I had to resort to some beefy pump pliers.

New Shimano with 48/38/28 chain rings. New chain fitted, found an interesting video on how to calculate chain length and that seems to have worked out perfectly!

Previously the largest chain ring was a 36, so I've got much more range. Although after a test ride I didn't need to move off the 48T chain ring. Need to do some more tinkering with the front derailleur to smooth things out.

I think most folk's gardens have benefited from the lockdown. My flower borders look nice at the moment.
