assuming you keep the spare - where do you stow the removed punctured wheel, it wont go in the boot:eek: (unless you tie the boot shut) someone didnt think of this at the design stage=)). Another thought here is - if you have no spare will the breakdown cover be any good? chances are if the AA arrive they may take the view as serves you right. Despite this i ditched mine ages ago, not because i wanted too, just lazy (i took it out as i intended to replace the rusty spacesaver, then just never gotten around to it, after a year i just removed the frame).

Can't see where there would be a problem with breakdown cover to be honest, many cars don't have a spare wheel these days. We often get cars recovered to our place with flat or damaged tyres by Green Flag, AA etc.

Probably true in most cases Tony but you are as well to check the small print in policies - some take the view if it's supposed to have one you should have one - Green Flag's what's not covered list includes this statement " The cost of a spare wheel and tyre, if we can’t use yours " - there could be quite an argument (not that I want to start one) on what that actually means.;)

suppose you could always argue that it was like it when you brought it and did not know it had a spare from new, most new BMW don't, you get a can of gunk and an electric pump.
