Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays!! I have a couple of quick questions about my 1999 Z3 2.3.
  1. On the passenger side seat belt, there is a little button to keep the buckle from sliding down too far. There is not one on the driver's side seatbelt. Can I put one in? Is there some reason the driver's side seatbelt has no button? Is it a US thing?
  2. The driver's side seat bolster is wearing well for a 20 year old car with 121K miles. I would like to keep it in good shape. Other than a seat cover, can anyone recommend a way to protect it from further wear?
Following are images of the seat belt "button", the bolster, and a shot of the Z3 on an alignment rack. Man this is one good looking car!

Nice sure about the button but the seat is a simple DIY job with stuff from furniture clinic or similar. @Sean d and a few others have repaired their seats to good effect.

I don't think it needs that much, there is some very effective leather balms available on Ebay, they are coloured so a black one would make your ware and tare virtually disappear

I had my driver seat back bolster and seat base restuffed (not a technical term) this week, by an auto trimmer, for £40. A little colour and conditioner and there is little significant sign of wear; the seat is most comfortable again.:)

Black shoe polish, cheap and works very well, it is after all designed for leather. Then give it a feed.
