I'm going to replace the rocker gasket as I'm getting staining around the engine. The nuts look corroded so was thinking of renewing those too, but a search for them seems like a UK price is silly money per nut. US prices seem to be around $3, but touching £10 here, and the cover needs 11 of them! I'll try and get a price off sopers, but are they really this expensive?

Leaks are usually because the rubber washer on the bolt has hardened. I would always replace those when I did a rocker gasket, some came with the gasket, some had to ordered separately.
When they’re off it’s fairly easy to give them a good clean and paint in a batch, a lot cheaper than what BMW want for them.

Or, see what price www.rockauto.com will do a set for, I get quite a few bits from them, If you’re careful can be surprisingly cheap.

Thanks for that link, bloody cheap and international delivery isn't too bad either. This could get expensive 😂

If you register with them, you can add cars to your profile. Then you’ll get emails when they have “close out” deals, getting rid of excess stock.
Those can be stupidly cheap. I once ended up with 36 spark plugs, what I though was about £4 a Platinum plug was £4 quid a SET!
If you do buy multiples, watch the carriage, it’ll tell you if the items are coming from different locations with A, B, C etc, that can seriously increase the cost amalgamating all the parts to one location. It can be much cheaper doing 2 or 3 orders in that case. Use Private or Incognito mode to do that, it’s the simplest method.
You should get a discount code for 5% off your next order. The current codes are usually available on google.
