Hi,
Anyone in/near Kidderminster have access to/known how to use a diagnostic code reader on my 1998 BMW Z3 E36 - I'm reading it has to be an OBD2 type with a 16 to round 20pin adapter

Vehicle is coming out of storage, Cranks but won't start without 'QuickStart' spray - maybe Crank/Cam sensor?

Did you check the fuel pressure regulator.

If that was faulty the fuel pump might struggle to keep up the pressure especially when cranking while the starter motor is taking so much causing the volts to drop a bit. Once the easystart has the engine running the pump just about manages to keep up the pressure.

Or sonething like that.

Thank you for the suggestion - would certainly make sense - I'll try to look into it
