Hi, as a damp stopper I use silicone kitty litter poured into an old pair of socks then tie the socks up, works a treat and you can put them in the airing cupboard to remove any moisture that may have got in them.

Hi & Welcome :welcome:

Good chance, My local BMW main dealer assures me they can still supply parts for 1970s cars onward and even some for 1960s cars.
Mercedes are the same too, parts for older cars are available mostly on a next day basis.

Tony.

Not a bad idea. I'll have a few old socks about. :)

As above, I'm going to be taking my Z3 (1999 / 1.9 / Roadster) off the road, which so far has been my daily driver, and get a VW Up for a commuter (M25, wooo! :(). The Z3 will be our summer car, but needs some work.

How would you recommend going about storing the Z3 on a driveway (No access to a garage) and working on it piecemeal over a few months? Also, any idea on insurance?

Additionally, the ABS sensors need a clean, as the dash lights are on, but the system itself hasn't failed.
The bolts holing the sensors in have rusted to the point where I am unable to use an allan key to remove them. how would you go about removing and replacing the bolts?

Finally, how likely is it that a decade from now, that the electronic parts ie. sensors etc, will still be available if something else breaks further on down the line?

How can I most cheaply get the following fixed?
-PCV Valve (Currently making a high pitched whining noise)
-Seized ABS sensor mountings
-Rear window (Currently gorilla taped shut)

Many thanks!
