Hi everyone

Just joined your forum as I will be looking for some help with a dead 1997 Z3 2.8.

I'm not very familiar with BMWs but have owned an E46 and an E39 many years ago. I have been twiddling spanners as an enthusiastic amateur for many years and I'm active on a number of Jaguar and Volvo forums.

I'm trying to help out a friend of a friend with his car, and I will post my questions in the technical forum later.

Glad to be on board and thanks for letting me in!

Welcome- you'll find more expert info here on these cars than ANYWHERE else.

First step- get yourself a Creator OBD scanner with circular adapter for the underbonnet socket.

Plug it in and delete all existing fault codes. Start again and see what codes persist.
