I know this has been covered before, but I cant find it.....
Just had my 17" wheels refurbished.
Now spaced out with 20 mm spacers on the rear, and I have a set of 12 mm spacers coming for the front.
From the pictures as you can see, there is a massive gap which is made worse visually by spacing the wheels out.

What is the consensus for lowering springs from the usual 3 manufacturers people .
From the top of my head these are the ones I remember being used/discussed.
Price as always has a factor, but there is not amassive difference in price here.

Eibach are very good, that would be my choice albeit H&R are also a reputable name just have no experience with them.

I've got 30mm eibachs and bilstein b4 shocks

I love the stance and the drive, so compliant but nicely sporty

Springs cost £130 I think
Shocks £150 ish

Plus new top mounts etc etc

So probably £350 all in to do it properly

I've got those apex. And I would advise going for eibachs. They are very low. All speed bumps are a no go!

If you know where to get them for £130 mate let me know.
The cheapest I found d them was that link k I put up.
I take it I don't need to change the shocks and top mount at this stage if they are ok .
£350 is a bit past my steath buy limit:whistle:

I thought the Zed ran too high and ordered Eibach (at the time they manufactured Shnitzer springs for BMW) fitted them them when she was two weeks old and had her tracked at the dealer to Shnitzer settings. She sits and rides perfect for me, never really found a speed that was too tall but if you go over too quick coming down they can catch the front of the chassis rails! mine don't have much texture to the underbody mastic:meh:

I think you should be the Aylesbury Guinea Pig and try it first Martin.
You have no kids ( apart from Stacey ) so lots of money to change if you go wrong;)

Thank you for any information.
Popped Bilstein B12 Pro Suspension kit on mine from Venom Motorsports. Eibach springs were the springs that came with it. 30mm drop all round. Looks and runs great :D

Second what most of you are saying, I've lost count the amount of lowering springs I've fitted now and feel the Eibachs are the best value for money.

If you doing it on a budget you can fit on your existing shocks or replace them with OEM shocks. If your pockets are a little deeper Bilsteins are amazing.

I have fitted eibachs to Pauls, Gaz's and mine but fitted H&R to the Wifes z3. The H&R sit lower than the Eibach's.

If you plan to fit them at home careful with the front springs, I couldn't get enough compression with spring clamps because the springs nearly double in length once its relaxed.
