My 1999 Wide Body

Looks a great colour

Thanks guys, hopefully have it back start of March. Already can’t wait to see how it looks!

Nice looking car though its not a widebody, and no not all facelift cars are widebodies either...in fact none of them are.

I think it's all down to how you interpret "wide body"

Facelifts are the same width as prefacelift, other then the pre 1.9, no such thing as wide body apart froim those trying to improve the saleability

Mine is "a cute arse". Not keen on "fat arse".

The two girls crabbing illustrate the point:whistle:

Glad you didn't say the two girls with the crabs . . . .. . .

Tony.

Some progress pics guys, got sills, bumpers, door mirrors, lights & wings off yesterday. Need new sills and a new drivers side front wing. Does anyone know if plastic sills are available? They should’ve used plastic from the start, instead of that thin sheet of metal lol. Can’t wait to see the car resprayed now.

@Ciaran there is or was a member on here who was making plastic sills, can't recall who but someone will know

That was the guy in Belgium? Can't remember his moniker just now but it'll come to me.
Not sure if he ever did get them into production though

Tony.

Thanks guys, think it’d be a far better job.
They where fibre glass I think,
What you need to take into consideration is that the silla have lasted 20 years with nothing inside to protect them, so in my mind if you fit steel sills as I have done and give them a liberal coat of underseal followed by cavity wax, they will last an aweful lot longer then 20 years especially if you maintain and clean out the jacking points every couple of years.

And they would always look much nicer than other materials.

Tony.

When I looked into this last year I managed to get in contact with a bloke in Belgium about the plastic ones he makes. Unfortunately he had shipping problems to the uk so no longer sells them abroad :(
