I have to say that seeing Shirl cry at lunchtime tipped me over the edge too. Since we lost our Carla all those years ago it does come easier.

Tony.

I was born as an Elizabethan in 1953, grew up to serve her in a Police Force and was close to her on numerous occassions on her travels, even had a personal wave from her when her train departed an overnight stop in a siding that I had been standing guard on all night, couldn't believe what I was seeing so what did I do? Wave back, thats what, made my day, never saw her do that in all the years I covered duties like that. Sad day for the UK today, RIP Your Majesty.

She served her Country and the Commonwealth so well right to the very end. She was to my mind unique amongst heads of state. There won’t be another like her.
RIP your Majesty

I have been listening and watching the various tributes to Elizabeth II.
In our troubled present times, for whatever reason, do you think Britain (as a start) can follow her example and learn to live with tolerance, respect and compassion for each other?
Must be worth a try in order to live up to her legacy ?
Never again will such a person impinge on my life as she did. RIP

It’s very very sad 😞
I didn’t think I’d feel the way I do ( but I’ve never really thought about it really) ……..
I just keep crying, I want to watch the tv but I’m find it very hard too watch ……
Our queen was a very special person 🥰

She was Shelly, and a big part of all of our lives even subconsciously.

Echo all sentiments of the above. A woman we admire and whose presence will be missed an awful lot. Thank you ma'am and a rest well deserved.

Had to travel to Crawley Monday for babysitting duties so detoured on the way to call in at Windsor Castle, we felt we wanted to make the effort to show our respect, the amount of floral tributes were staggering, crowds of people doing the same as us but the silence amongs them was very noticable.
