We have been seriously looking to downsize for about a year now but the first bungalow we fancied got sold while the wife and I contemplated whether to make an offer. Another nice one came on the market and got sold straight away but the buyers got cold feet and pulled out. We banged ours up for sale and got a cash offer within 6 days and had an offer accepted on the bungalow within 7 days! The bungalow is a deceased estate so there is no chain in either direction. It is very nearly spot on for us and will be bang on with a bit of time and money spent but in the short term we are losing our extra large double garage with a loft over and going down to a modern single garage which is basically useless for parking a car in. There might be a very nice low mileage “M” for sale in a couple of months. :(

Downsizing our house is the best thing we ever did but we did gain a decent size garage. Good luck with it Tony.

We down sized in 2006 to a bungalow with a double garage and a loft over but as our family grew and like to all come down at Christmas we enlarged so all can be put up. In the close of 5 bungalows where we are only two of us use our garages to put cars in the others are junk holes.
Have never regretted the move to the edge of Exmore and with two Zs in the garage what else could I want ? Geoff

My wife and I are seriously starting to think about downsizing. The problem is that I'd be happy with a one bedroom bungalow with a 5 car garage in the garden. You can imagine how that went down....

You're kidding. My new build tiny garage. I store my 360 in there as a rule... just.
Pic 2, the 360 is in for a service so the Z3 gets the garage. I can play football in there now :D

The room is all at the back and sides. Keep the car I'm sure it will fit.

The car will fit but there is no room for my motorbike, tool kit, pushbikes, compressor, work bench and building odds and sods. It’s the sort of garage that you can get the car in but then struggle to open the door wide enough to get out.
I do have a cunning plan to store the Z at my sisters for a little while but she doesn’t know yet.

Looked at downsizing a couple of years ago when the last of the children flew the coop.
Problem is you end up comparing everything you look at with what you've got so ended up staying where we are.
