We have just placed an order for a conservatory with a company from Mansfield Woodhouse and it rings a bell with me that a forum member lives over that way but I can’t remember who it is. Anybody on here dealt with Conservatoryland with any stories good or bad about them?

Yep thats me Tony. I deliver their profiling and other stuff to them on a Friday. They have been around for a good few years so that's always a good sign.
I can't tell you what they are like as company but they have decent premises and the lads I deal with are fine. What I can tell you is our profile is seen as second best in the industry so you are getting a decent quality conservatory (before its manufactured).

Thanks Grumps, I have been in touch with them on and off for over 12 months and they come across as a stable company but I have just handed over a fair wedge of money for a cancelled order orangery so it’s good to have some re-assurance from somebody with closer connections.

Well it tested my patience at times and b******* my back up for a few weeks at a time when trying to get an appointment at our medical centre was akin to winning the lottery, but the orangery that I bought sight unseen is almost finished. I did book a builder to put it up for me but he let me down at the last minute so I did it myself. My neighbour who is in his eighties helped with the labouring and a friend put the final plaster skim on, and that’s the only bit I’m not 100% happy with so there might be a lesson there. No rest yet because the new kitchen cupboards arrive next week.

Did you consider matching the bricks with the house bricks?

The bricks don’t match the house because I was penny pinching. The conservatory was a late cancellation by whoever specked it and it was ready for despatch. The company contacted all interested parties on their books and offered it at a knockdown price but it had to be taken with no alterations to the original order. The saving was good enough that I bought it with a view to either painting or rendering it to match the bungalow. That will wait til the Spring now.
