Some of you may remember me, I had an e89 2 ltr z4 - and was rather quick - lol

since then had M2 - and now cayman gts - which is amazing

however I am thinking of getting an e85 Z4m for track and retire the cayman. And use the cayman as an daily.

- what mods do you consider are needed in what order

rotas, pads, coilovers, tyres - what else and what order please.

I am no @Brian H on track

thanks for advance

Welcome back!

I'm rocking a Z4M now and taken it on a couple of track days already with a 3rd in the next week or so. Mine isn't really heading to be a full on track car but it's creeping that way little by little...

It had some good stuff already on it when I bought it including BC Racing coilovers. A lot of my progress with the car was around getting it to a good level generally - bearing shells, VANOS and pretty much a complete suspension refresh and rear sub frame rebuild were essential at 123k. Everything I've done so far is in my progress thread. I've pretty much gone with everything either OEM or Meyle HD. Might be looking at a big brake kit and there is a brake cooling vent kit I'm also interested in.

I guess it's going to depend on how good the one you buy is and how it's been maintained. I'll send you a link to my spreadsheet which covers the majority, but you may find one that's had the bearing shells done (essential c£900) and the VANOS (if needed £1500)!

I know but the z4 is slow compared to the cayman 420bhp so much quicker than M2

think cayman is around 8 secs at donnington

hoping to get a track tart before new year -seen a couple around that 10k mark
