Hello Everyone!
While overhauling the cooling system on my recently acquired 1999 Z3 M52TU w/120K miles, I broke the lower plastic cooling pipe that runs under the intake manifold. Even the gentlest pulling and rotating resulted in the end of the pipe stuck in the block with no way to grab it.

While preparing for this overhaul I watched some videos by Matt Schroyer on YouTube:

Thankfully he covered how to handle this very situation. It involved using a 3/4" tap (around 19mm) to get a good grip on the bit of plastic hose in the block. With no room to swing a tap handle I rigged a setup for my cordless drill that you can see in the images below.

I used the drill at just barely turning and eventually it pulled out the first O-ring and then it grabbed solidly. I wiggled and pulled the tap for a while and the last bit of the pipe came out. Perfect! Great solution to a ticklish situation!! After looking at the pipe's end, I am extremely pleased to be doing the overhaul - it is definitely time!
