Hi Folks,

I have a battery tender which I used to keep my bike’s battery in good shape over the winter. Our 2.8 isn’t going to get a lot of use through the winter.

I am assuming this batt tender will be okay to look after the Zed’s battery? Do I use the jump start ports under the bonnet or connect directly to the batt as I did on my bike?

Appreciate any advice and thanks in anticipation.

Chris

Probably best to connect direct to battery terminals, no loss of current as it would if connected to the under bonnet terminals, the longer the cable run to the battery will see a drop of current so I am led to believe. Keep my bike on a tender without any problems, not used on the Zed as I start her up and run her over the winter whilst she is laid up.

I use a Ctek battery conditioner on my Z over the winter, and I’ve never had a problem. Battery now coming up to 9 years old.

I have a similar item to the C-tek. I connect direct to the battery and close the boot lid catch with a screwdriver (so it's sensed as locked) then gently lower the lid onto the cable.

Quick question but relevant - do you have to disconnect one of the battery terminals or is it safe to leave it all connected ?

Leave it all connected Steve, that's why I close to boot catch then you can also lock the car leaving the boot lid gently resting on the cable.
