As I said in my introduction I'm new to Z3s and new to BMWs in general.
It won't surprise any of you long term owners what I found on the lovely new acquisition which I bought last Saturday.
By the way this forum is already proving it's worth as most of the answers to the "problems" are already here!
One thing - has anyone experienced the seat height switch/motor/mechanism to be faulty and rectified as opposed to the fore/aft ones???
Any tips greatly received!

- Both seats jiggle on acceleration/deceleration (great answer re: fitting new bushes in this forum)
- Drivers seat forward/aft movement fine (if a bit noisy) but trying to raise seat (it is waaay down at the bottom of adjustment) does nothing - no noise - no vibration - nothing it just stubbornly stays where it is...I suspect a faulty switch but the article (again in this forum) on seat f/a motor and diagrams means I can confidently unbolt and inspect the mechanism.
- One of the Hardon speakers muffly - again recent article on replacement
- Oil service lights are working but indicate oil change not needed - Just found an excellent article here about re-setting these lights and reading between the lines I think that's exactly what the previous owner ( a canny South African who when I asked about service history waffled on about "Ahh in this country you hardly use your cars ... In South Africa we drove hundreds of miles in searing heat and dust and never needed to do regular servicing!".. In other words I'm a soft pom and the cars fine.... Well I'll do an oil service just in case thank you my old mate (just in case you have been reseting the oil service indicator on the sly!)
- Seat belt guide clip cracked - again not a big problem but another article here shows me how to reolve it - what service!
