Thanks for all of your interest, replies and complimentary comments. I am going to leave it for a few weeks and then look at widening the advertisement to other sites. I would much prefer to sell to an enthusiast who knows about Z3s rather than somebody on Facebook who just wants a convertible for the summer.

Good luck. :) I think the weather will help you. A couple of things I'd say to try and help. There are some very high prices (some would say massively inflated) prices being achieved on collectingcars.com at the moment. A good friend recently achieved £5K more than expected from a foreign buyer without a single viewing and everything went through smoothly. It sounds as if your car has the kind of history that will appeal to those buyers willing to purchase on trust. The other thing would be to take it to a few classic meets with a FS sign in the window. You'll have a huge audience of almost 100% enthusiasts. Hope that all comes across in the positive way it's intended. :)

Thank you @Unreal, your comments are very helpful. Will check out the site you mention and taking it to some Classic car meets is a good idea. Apologies for the delay in replying. It has been a busy week for me.

Are you considering an online auction site? The last 2 Z3’s of low mileage went for strong money. There are enthusiasts out there looking for high quality Zed’s and are prepared to pay for a good one. Might be worth considering? All the best with the sale of the car🙂👍

Wouldn't put it on an auction, better to have a 'Classified' advert in my opinion and only deal with people face to face. It doesn't matter what we know about these cars and their condition the only cars fetching 'good money' (a lot) are ones with low mileage. Good luck with the sale, looks like a great car.

Not considering an auction site (yet). Will have an advert on Car and Classic website in the next few days. The price I have put on mine reflects the amount of refurbishment done and that the sale includes a hardtop. The mileage could put some people off, but as we know 100K miles on a well maintained 2.8 is nothing to be concerned about. Low miles will attract better money, however, if maintenance has been neglected (because the car has not been used) there will be money to spend. Preaching to the converted, on here, I know.

Hi @Z Victor 1, I am going the "classified" route to start with. As in my reply to @SYMZ3 many people don't realise that low miles doesn't mean there will be no money to spend. Our cars are almost all 20+ years old and as we all know still need to be well maintained irrespective of mileage.

Totally agree. Low mileage + low maintenance = £££

however, low mileage + good maintenance = £strong price 🙂👍

Hi Stacey, Hope you and Martin are both doing well.
Yes, unfortunately the time has come to move on. A skin condition means that top down driving is no longer an option. We went to Scotland last year in July with the hardtop on, it's not the same though. The hardtop works best with windows up, so it's A/C on all the way and nothing like having the wind blowing across the "baldy head".
