Rebody After a lot of thinking

And a 356 with faded paint would look like a ‘real’ one to 95% of the population. Shiny paint just screams kit car. Only seen one original 507, at Goodwood, the faded paint, the pitted chrome, looked amazing. I’ve seen 2 replicas, the 2 pack paint, oh and the alloys. Kit car.

Rebody After a lot of thinking

Have you considered these? No changes to the interior. I’ve seen a couple of Bertini, the fibreglass looks decent, though the boot lid on the blue one was rippled. https://www.eleventowns.com/bertini.html https://www.drivingyourdream.com/store/p438/ZGT.html

    Engine swap help

Also, as I’ve just discovered, if going down the lightest reciprocating mass route, the 492g Swedish ZRP rods, aren’t. They’re 550g. The set I’ve just received are not within the advertised +/-1g either. The much derided ‘cheap Chinese rubbish’ max speeding rods are 550g with a 0.11g spread...

    Engine swap help

Wonderful stuff, when people can be bothered to read the instructions 😂 Pointless rebuilding an engine without it really, was showing my lad how to use it on his A series rebuild just last week. For those who don’t know: https://plastigauge.co.uk/ For Bimmer shell clearances, you’ll want Red.

    Engine swap help

Ooh, down the rabbit hole. The M44 is 16 valve so not direct fit to the M43, you’ll need to pocket the pistons. I think it was Daspete on this thread who discovered the cam is out of phase if you use M43 wiring, be worth searching for that thread. You likely won’t need a full rebuild, nor should...

    ABS/ASC issue

Yeah, there are no contact marks to be seen, weird. Are the terminals at the connector clean?

    ABS/ASC issue

Unless it’s not the sensor but the ABS ring on the driveshaft, they can swell up, or distort, due to corrosion. Usually the left rear that’s goes first as it’s exposed to more crud/salt. Worth checking the face of the sensor, if you still have it, for any witness marks, they look like polished...

Z3, free bits. All gone I’m afraid.

Brackets and micrometers now spoken for. Euro connectors still available.

    Wanted Z4, e85 Project, cheap.

You are quite correct, but only IF the car is in passable condition. Unlikely really. All of the ones without MOT are300+ miles from me. The two most interesting ones have been out 2+ years. I've been stopped enough times, and spoken to enough Police over the years to know they'd lift the car...

Difficulty finding replacement exhaust - 2002 BMW 1.9i

That section is fairly decent steel, I repaired my lad's 318 several times, same design. He ran super low so kept cracking, or breaking it. It repairs fairly easily, just have to grind the coating down to decent metal. simplest way is to plate with thin wall stainless tube if there are holes...

    Low cost racing solutions m44

I should have checked What's New before the PM I have a Pazi88 M44 speeduino board, which I believe the Making for Motorsport guy used on his. I think is the basis of the above, you can have it if you want, I ended up doing so much o/t I never got the time to build it and just bought a diy-efi...

    They live amongst us

Unless its a 6 inch nail in place of a bleed nipple, yes, really. Or the guy who reverse mounted the steel wheels of a Suzuki SJ413 for wider track and wondered why they kept loosening.

Rebody Instagram posts for you 507 guys

Yeah, my lad works for Unique Auctioneers, formerly Silverstone Auctions, some of the cars they've been selling recently have hit world records. He sent me pics just before covid, an immaculate looking Ferrari, well over a million. Stunning restoration says I, nope, that's BEFORE restoration...

    Wanted Z4, e85 Project, cheap.

Depends on what I end up with, I have loads of different wheels I won’t use on the Z3, I fancy two tone colour, maybe two tone leather too. If it has leather. Running a Cooper S as a daily, nice, runs well, now anyway, BUT, I’m bored with it, it’s got a roof.

A real one, nice View: https://www.instagram.com/p/DFnP5kbtyPd/?igsh=MXhwYnNvbTV4bmVtNA== A real fake one, and others, no idea if the Lotus style chassis is what they’re using or not. Loadsa dosh, though they look busy. I wonder how many will be passed off to the gullible. View...

    Wanted Z4, e85 Project, cheap.

As title, looking for a rough as a Badgers arse z4 to Sinatra build. NEEDs Cheap, like £1500, or less. Absolutely nothing ‘decent’. Runs enough to have at least a 75-80% chance of making it home to Scotland, and enough Mot to do it legally. So no bald tyres please. A watertight (😂) hood. Euro 4...

Difficulty finding replacement exhaust - 2002 BMW 1.9i

Where are you? If anywhere near Perth I can weld the exhaust up for you, done a couple of M43 manifolds in the past. Also have an M44 exhaust, I expect I could put a flange on the rear section to match what you already have. South of England, @spursfaninacoupe is your best bet. Don’t throw the...
