Z3, free bits. All gone I’m afraid.

I have a brand new pair of Z3 front lollipop brackets, with new bushes, that I don’t need. Meyle Taken Pair of Clarke micrometers: taken A few Euro air connectors, all my stuff is PCL/Vertex so no use to me. Also gone. If of any use pm me an address I’ll pop them in the post, otherwise to...

    Wayward steering

Sorry, my phones tiny, I just noticed it’s an e85, not a Z3. The bushes on the Z4 are more robus,t and the attachment shorter, but they can still cause wandering steering if getting a little worn. Not often a mot fail though, unless really bad. Def worth checking imo.

    Seat tilt mechanism

When you pull the cable make sure the tube rotates on the spring. It may be the spring rotating and is locked to the tube. If that’s the case you have to remove the seat base/foam to gain access. Means prising all the clips off without damaging the leather. I would try tapping the tube and...

    Wayward steering

Highly likely to be lollipop bushes, worn standard bushes cause the car to wander when trying to go in a straight line. Best replaced with the solid M3 style, almost same price and make a vast improvement. If you do want to stick with standard pm me an address, I just came across a set...

    Seat tilt mechanism

I can’t find the pics, this is on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144616593210?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qpX44S86RyK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=bAr198BjRM2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The tube jams on the spring. It’s all held by the pin. Mine was so jammed on one seat, I...

    Seat tilt mechanism

Yes, if it’s not reclining it’s often the tab in the pics above has bent. That’s usually because the water under the seats has corroded the tab, or the tube it’s attached to. Applying oil to make sure the mechanism rotates freely, and maybe bending the tab back into position cures it. Both of my...

    Solid Flywheel & Clutch help

Assuming from the Rockauto reference you’re in the States, it would be cheaper to get a lightened flywheel with an M3 240mm clutch. That has the same 10 spline fitting as the Getrag. It’s also the same as the 325 5 speeds. EBay is polluted with the things. This is the one I went for...

Wanted All sorted and can be deleted

I looked at a Z4 a while back needing a clutch. It was only £50 more for a single flywheel conversion than it was for the dmf clutch. £180 V £230 on eBay I think.

    Cracked Strut Tower Weld Z3

Yeah, bit far. Being n/s and not a drifter, I expect it’s been bumped up a kerb most of its life, quite common, not just on Z3/e36. It’s not a difficult fix, simplest method is drill the spot welds with a cobalt spot drill bit. Tap the metal down and reweld, then use the spot drill between the...

    Cracked Strut Tower Weld Z3

The e36 front platform, which the Z3 uses, is notorious in the drifting community for cracking, or distorting. If it weren’t there wouldn’t be quite so many strengthening kits/fixes available. Since there doesn’t appear to be any distortion in the pictures I would just clean it up and re weld...

BMW Z3 - Adjustable Rear subframe camber and toe

If you put it back in a piece at a time, you’ll find you have to shorten one of the bolts. Can’t remember if it’s the inner, or outer, still leaves plenty of thread though.

    M43b19 to m52b28 swap

Have a look on YouTube, there’s lots of swaps into e36 on there, which is what a Z3 is. Some are more informative than others, the American ones can be quite poor. There’s a Scottish bloke from Livingston who’s very clued up on the wiring side of it. Sorry, I don’t have any links, quite some...

    Tail light bulb socket

EBay, it’s a push in t10 socket. US spec, though it can be added to Euro lights if the socket is drilled out, as I did to mine. I could show you if I knew where those particular rear lights are, stored. . Somewhere. I just searched “push in t10 bulb holder”. Loads of them, various designs...

    SOLD iCarsoft BMM V2

I have one of these and it’s great, I highly recommend it for BM’s and Mini’s. Used it on 6 or 7 different models, dpf regeneration, coding batteries, did both with ease. It reads and resets just about everything you could need. After an update it read and reset all the faults on a relatives...

    Roll bar hoops

“Only downside was all the people on here telling me that they only "style" bars not roll.over protection.” So are the O.E bars, imo. The bars are decent ish, but far too low to be effective and the mountings are insufficient. Wouldn’t advise a trolley jack, very difficult to control. Bottle...

Time for an overhaul of my 1.9 '98 BMW Z3 Individual

I had the joys of going with old guys to resurrect stuff that had been sitting. With Scotlands humidity and large temp changes condensation inside steel tanks always meant water in the fuel tank. Pour in half a pint of ethanol, rock the car to mix, maybe some Toluene, or Xylene (octane level...
