    Tonneau Cover Black

Thank you all. I’m in the South East so it may come down to distance in terms of collecting. I totally get it that they are quite bulky for delivery etc!

    Tonneau Cover Black

Does anyone know what a reasonable price would be for a second hand black tonneau cover in excellent condition and does anyone have one for sale? Prices vary wildly on eBay. For some reason my vehicle did not come with one and I think it would look neater with one fitted when the hood is down...

    Rear Brake Pipe Unions

The fact that these rear sections have been replaced at some point led me to believe they would cooperate with my Snap On brake union spanner. It doesn’t usually let me down. I’m figuring maybe they weren’t replaced that recently after all!

    Rear Brake Pipe Unions

Currently replacing numerous rear brake components and having a tough time releasing brake pipe unions between the last metal pipe section to the outer flexi hose. I tried everything and now rounded off. These metal pipes have been replaced before and have been fabricated with sufficient slack...

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

There will be a video on the roof shenanigans as I got a reasonable amount of footage of seat and carpet removal to route wiring front to rear, even though I didn’t need to, thanks to my ‘pilot error’. In actuality, it wasn’t in vain because I also ran the new wire from instrument housing to...

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Thank you. This totally makes sense. I really appreciate your input on this. Fingers crossed there is no other underlying cause for the wire having been cut and spurious feed applied.

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Bit of an update and feeling a bit of an imbecile to be honest. The live feed from the radio wiring was actually supplied to the brown/orange wire that had been cut at the switch and not the brown/red (I struggle to tell them apart as the colours are so similar). This explains why the jumper...

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Cheers! I’m thinking it could be a double pole switch then. It would be an interesting twist to have functional brake lights but not the correct output for the roof circuit.

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Thank you for this. The micro switch seems functional, as when opening, until the roof is lifted the motor does not cut in. When closing however, the motor does not cut out when the roof hits the top of the windscreen, I simply let go of the button. Again I find this odd given the wiring...

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

I think it’s turned into both - a project and a money pit. It’s all good though, free and single so nothing else to spend my money on 🤣

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Thank you! Yep I’m not far from there and it’s good to know there’s a local breaker - extremely useful. It’s not often I find the need to ask for ideas but this damn roof has had me perplexed.

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

I will check this when I have an assistant. A couple of other points I forgot to mention in original post: When I cut the brown/red wire at the pump unit, in order to attach the jumper wire, therefore providing continuity between dash switch and relay I had fully expected it to work as at that...

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Hello and thank you for your reply and for subscribing. Yes indeed, that’s me. I totally agree with you on the manual roof. In an ideal world it would be! I use a length of foam pipe lagging to ensure the plastic window folds correctly. This electrical issue has been so frustrating as having...

    Z3 Electrical problem

Great solution. I know my boot lid doesn’t lock with the remainder of the central locking and that was going to be the first thing I look at. I like the connector arrangement. Can I ask where I can buy that?

    98 Z3 2.8 Roadster

Hello, I have a 98 Z3 2.8 in Arctic Silver. I’ve never used a Forum before so a little unsure on the site navigation side. I have a very strange anomaly with my electric roof that I’m hoping to resolve. Quite confused and on the verge of losing my mind with my roof wiring. Maybe I need a fresh...
