I know what has caused this, as you age you shrink and therefore your legs are getting shorter. Maybe move the seat a little closer so you can use the full range of the pedal =))

As you've noticed the 2.8 had a front lower shield for rad air flow. Get an under tray from the 2.2 or 3.0 these will fit fine.

Works well with the 2.5 also, wont be documented here as we didn't get the 2.5 Z3, that was an American variant.
