It sounds like an air valve opening or closing but nothing I have ever heard from the half dozen or so BMW sixes I have had. Apart from that noise it doesn’t sound as smooth as it should do. My tech skills are limited but will try and get a sound clip from mine after Lando wins at Spa!

Having used it for a few years now I just spray heavily and leave it, any overspray is gone within a day or so, like you I started gently and it was counterintuitive to go heavier, it works though!

I would change both cables, mine had the same issue until one day it refused to open, whole world of pain once the main cable jams, two new cables, plenty of swear words and two days of hard gymnastics I managed to replace the cables and now opens smoothly as if new. There is thread on here...

I have been using their products for some years now and still impressed, the Gummi Phledge type products is great on roof seals and the like, it’s called Revolution Tyre and trim gel and one treatment last a good 9 months.
