    Antenna base necessary?

Thanks. Would it be easier and cheaper to just mail me the booster unit? I don’t need the bracket and I can live without the mast. Sorry for the questions.

    Antenna base necessary?

Haha. I’m quite over the coat hanger stage. I’ll just play cds until I find a new booster unit that I feel like buying. Hey, I plugged the hole, and it looks correct!!

    Antenna base necessary?

Well I did a strange hack today. The broken unit was securely lodged in the grommet, so I mounted up the grommet and installed the antenna. No one will know that it’s not hooked up to the booster. I reattached the booster to the fender, and hooked up the cable and ground. I’ll see if I get any...

    Antenna base necessary?

I’m reluctant to spend $150 on a new unit, unless it’s worth it. I don’t think that I want to try a used one for the reason my original broke. Hard old plastic.

    Antenna base necessary?

The grommet was gone, and the previous owner had a new one. I was simply going to install it. Then the end of the unit broke off. It had not been leaking.

    Antenna base necessary?

I all. I got my z3 yesterday. The antenna grommet needed replacing, so I set about doing that. The stock antenna base unit ended up cracking off where the antenna screws in. Old and brittle. My stereo unit is aftermarket, so do I have to use this unit?

    Greetings!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Today I test drove a 99 2.8. It was pretty solid, just very abused. When I got home and did a carfax on it, I found out that it had been stolen, totaled and salvaged titled! It had 12 owners so far! Um…no thanks!!! Too bad! She deserves better!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I’m a car enthusiast and will be purchasing a z3 soon. I’m currently borrowing a beautiful 99 z3, and am looking for the right one to buy for myself. I’m a 65 year old teacher and musician. I’ve decided that at 65, it’s time to sell the Harley, but only for a...
