I had the same issue, turned out to be the fuse. It's the first thing to check :)

So I've changed the whole tensioner rather than just the pulley/bearing and voila. Noise gone. I think it wasn't holding the tension in the belt when it was spinning faster therefore creating a horrible belt noise. New one works a treat.

Ok so.... Bad news. Just took her out for a proper spin. The noise is back and it's definitely getting worse. It's a constant squeal which gets worse when setting off from 1st gear.. I'm just so bored of problems with this car I'm having :( it's definitely not an enjoyable ownership right...

Ok, so I changed the tensioner pulley this afternoon and the noise has gone. The old bearing was completely knackered if I'm honest. I spoke too soon. However if it does come back I'll be resurrecting this thread!! ;)

As the title says, I have this annoying squealing noise when I'm releasing the clutch in 1st gear and it also happens when I change into second for about 2 seconds and then goes away. This only seems to happen when the engine is warm and It's really confusing me. Does anyone have any...

But it's not the original tax disc that was on the car :(

I want to be certain that the rear sub frames are the same across the range. Bearing in mind mine is a wide body, don't know if this makes a difference. Any other opinions?

Thanks both for your replies @t-tony @oldcarman the rear was swinging out so this explains why the rear near side is toeing out. I guess it's a case of getting a new rear end that is aligned correctly? More looking around the breakers for me then...
