Hello!
Having just finished a total cooling system overhaul and manifold upgrade, I realize I had neglected to address a small issue. The new expansion tank has a blue, 2 pin electric socket on the bottom. However, I cannot locate the associated plug for it anywhere in the engine bay.

I am relatively certain that the plug and socket monitor the coolant level and warn of low coolant. Does anyone know where the plug might be or is it not used in the Z3? A picture of the socket is below. Thanks in advance for your help!

Just a guess but I believe not ll cars use all the features. I also believe that some parts fit multiple cars and that's why some cars don't have a feature used in that model.

You will probably find a number of spare plugs on the Zed as the standard loom catered for extras to be fitted on different models.
If you enter your VIN number in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?product=P&archive=1 then it should identify your vehicle. Look under radiator section - if any numbers are `greyed out' on the diagram that means it was not fitted to your model originally.
