Ok so got a price from BMW for original parts today

2x Z3 sills for my '98 1.9
2x rear brake plates (bits that handbrake cables attach to)

All in £310.53

Thought that was decent for genuine BMW parts

I'd go with that. Think I paid £50 ish for my back plates it's just fitting the dam things which is the problem.

I paid £205 for a set of new sills. Now just need to paint them...:( that's the costly bit
I paid £278-00 10% discount inc vat for a pair of genuine bmw sills
& £60-00 for a pattern o/s front wing (but very good quality) then I sourced a
Painter who charged £200-00 including paint, stone chip & sundries. (One quote for painting was £295 + vat robbing gits. Anyway the painter made a superb job & the colour match is spot on.
Before you start fitting them I suggest you buy some clips for the top sill moulding (the one with ROADSTER ON IT) as you will no doubt break a few regards CHAPPO.

Pattern part from. Imperial Automotive Ltd.

I also bought a pattern front wing from e e-bay. It was a different seller, but they were selling Imperial Automotive parts.
I found the panel edges had severe burr edges (ragged cut edges) and I filed these off prior to getting them painted. Burr edges will result in rust starting so careful preparation is essential.
I also had a re-cycled front wing (other side) which I removed the surface rust from and treated. I feel that this was better than the pattern part when finished. Time will tell.
Sills from BMW were well finished and needed no remedial work before spraying.

The pattern o/s front wing i purchased had no ragged edges or faults of any kind & was galvanised.
At £60-00 & a massive £123-00 cheaper than a genuine part it’s a NO BRAINER.
I personally would fit the pattern wing (of the quality I purchased) sooner than fettle a rusty genuine unit.

I cheated when fitting the rear brake plates. Cut a slit in the narrow section that allowed me to slip the plate on without having to remove the hub.
A blob of weld to make good but you could probably get away with using JB weld as it is securely bolted on.
You will have to adjust it by levering with a screwdriver to make sure it is not rubbing on the disc.
