Well it's that time of year again for my Z4, currently with A Flux on an agreed value. Just wondered who other old codgers like me are insured with on similar cars/cover.
Mines a 2.2i , fully comp, full ncb, legal protection.

Thanks, I will check with other providers when mine is up, but last two said I can only use my full ncb on one car.

I use moneysupermarket.com to compare prices. If you fill your details in once, then they are held for subsequent years' quotes. Not all do agreed value and the general advice is you get best quotes 3 to 4 weeks before renewal. I usually change insurer every couple of years, as you tend to get a good renewal price after first year, but then the prices start climbing to reward your loyalty:whistle:. Just moved to Churchill after a few years with RAC who had increased quote by £50 on previous year.

Using topcashback or quidco also can help reducing costs..can be temperamental though so think of it as a bonus, Im waiting an insurnace from confused.com to uplift from 0 to £30

I have just insured again with Chris Knott, same cost as last year so I’m happy.

You have to earn ncb on different cars @bombur, not just the one. I always check comparison sites which usually give cheap quotes, but they don't usually do 'agreed value' . My cheap quotes tend to be around £135 upwards, but I wondered if anyone has had a good quote with agreed value. Mine is around £260.

Not strictly true. When I bought my Mazda I was told the same, but, after a sensible conversation I convinced one company that I can only drive one car at one time so it was unfair. They agreed and gave 30% as a starting NCB.

That's very good with 'agreed value'. Was that a definite 'agreed value' or was that just your valuation typed in an online quote?

No I had to send pictures and a form and sent to Zenith Marque, then had confirmation. I only did £2,500 haha but was a lot more than I paid for it.

That’s true. You have to build NCB up from scratch in another car.
Unless you can negotiate a good discount like I did?

The discount was a 30% NCD. Next year they gave me 40% and so on. By the time I sold my Touareg and bought the E85 I had full NCD on 2 cars as well. I only got the original 30% NCD after complaining that I could only drive 1 car at once. If you don't ask .....................

It’s worth asking…if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Just renewed my Z3 M Coupe with Classic Line. Agreed value, 3k mileage limit, fully comp £274, just a couple quid up on last year. Agreed value lasts for two years (its in second year now), so maybe doing check for quotes again as I did this year.

My father-in-law got his first "second car" a few years ago.
He got an insurance quote based unwittingly on using his existing NCB on his first car.
They never asked for the proof of NCB, and upon renewals he had full NCB on both policies..
I'm not suggesting that, but I do not remember the last time I was asked to show proof of NCB even though I download it religiously as a lot of companies just show 9 years NCB as full, even though I can demonstrate more then 20
