Body Part Name

Can anyone give me the correct name for the long outside panel that runs along the full length of the car under the doors? I have a large dent on one side and wondered whether it would cheaper to replace it rather than have the dent sorted. No idea what to look for on Ebay or on here!

I'd replace them personally. They're prone to rusting as a result of stone chips.

I think I paid about 200 for both from BMW

Depends on how spanner friendly you are but the sills are easy enough to remove as they are only bolt on and cosmetic. I removed ours and cleaned all the build up of silt behind them treated the rusty area and knocked the dent out myself.

If you gently tap the dent from the inside whilst resting against a thick piece of carpet you will be able to remove most dents. Just work carefully and not too hard.
