Eventually, I will end up, kinda in your situation in the summer when I plan to fit BC racing coilovers... but I was curious to discuss if anyone had similar experiences with different camber side-to-side
You are right. The measurements they provided don't state any information regarding the weights used. For sure, I was not in a full tank; it was halfway.
The correct preload would probably make a difference. Could it be that they only preloaded the driver's seat if some "common" cars require...
Yeah perhaps in the weekend I will try to raise the car and let the strut drop a bit so I can re-align it, as far as I know/seen the top mounts rotate freely so it should be easy...
Thanks for the help. I will try to rotate my passenger (left) strut mount, although that is kind of strange because, in theory, the "right (driver)" side is out of spec. o_O But perhaps the shop messed up left/right...
Hmm, but what is the factory for the arrows? Do you think the arrows should point to the hole (as it is in the right image)? :pompus:
What do other people's mounts look like?
Given that the previous owner had full service history and the car drives well, I doubt something is bent... but I guess...
Hey everyone,
Last weekend, I replaced my control arms and tie rods and fitted Powerflex bushings with new lollipop brackets.
When I took the car for alignment I discovered that my left wheel (driver side) camber is off at -1deg. 29 min.
The previous owner (I have all the history), has replaced...
Haven't tried them, perhaps now with the Black Friday would be a chance. If anyone else tries them let us know, because even if I fit them, now all the tracks are closed in Denmark and it's not the best season to see if they "work" or not...
You are right, these are definitely needed with coilovers. But I believe they're supplied with many RSM kits (Powerflex). So I have them in mind when I get there, but still not sure if they are enough to handle the stress of an actual coilover
I just got a reply from someone on the Facebook Z3 track and race group stating that he now runs the GAZ gold with true rear coilovers, and it's his favorite setup so far in the auto/track events.
Still I am not sure our rear shock domes are designed to receive this kind of stress
Fitted this weekend new HD drop links from a Ford Mondeo :wacky: (similar to those by hack-engineering and hardeman motorsport) and new Powerflex black FCABs with new brackets!
Hey there fellow zeds, I am also planning a black Friday suspension gift for my Z3 3.0i that will make her more track friendly but can still pass inspection (has TUV) here in Denmark. I am between the Bilstein B12 or the MTS technik coilovers. Another more expensive option is KW V1.
Anyone any...
It is a bit more strict I guess, but not German strict for sure... it's done in special garages that only do this job (cannot be a workshop) and they have to upload the results with pictures to a government body etc. but you can find also relaxed ones if you go outside of Copenhagen.
i.e. they...
A bit late on this but the butt brace shown here mounts and acts exactly like the ultraracing butt brace isn't that right? I understand that the body brace is even better. But given that StrongStrut are no in operation any more. Isn't the ultra racing lower rear brace the same as the butt brace...
A bit late on this thread but is there any link or how does one replace the membrane behind the door card? Can't seem to find the part no. on hubauer.de or what adhesive to use etc.
