I'd go with powder coating, I sanded and sprayed mine a few years ago, took ages and looked good, but I was never completely happy with the result. Powder coating will make them look like new.

When doing the above, you may find that the threaded bit needs to be unbolted, then turned a few times then reattached. They can reach the end and need to be rescrewed back on. Sorry for crap terminology 😀
