@Stevo7682 thanks for the recommendation.
@Tomk it’s often the pipe from steering rack feeding the cooling the loop which fails as it corrodes quite badly. It’s site along the front of the steering rack so gets a bit of a blasting when we’re driving our cars.
I make the kit I supply. I’ve sold...
@muzza289
Thank you for the great review and taking time to share.
The pipes are fitted to quite a few Z3’s now which I’m rather proud of and very much a DIY job.
all the best

The only problem with the CTEK and these smart chargers is that if your battery is really very flat then it won’t charge it.
You’ll have to use a good old fashioned constant current charger to get juice into it for the smart chargers to do their regenerating wizardry.
I have a CTEK 5 and it’s...
@Pendle996 thanks for sharing the prices from Kwik Fit and ATS. They’re my two nearest high street garages too.
I’ve just paid £85.00 near enough for:
7 litres oli - Fuchs Titan
Oil filter - Febi
Air filter - Febi
Sump plug / washer
Fuel filter - Febi
That includes VAT and and 15% discount...
New latches and cabling are largely installed. It’s proving to be one of the most frustrating jobs I’ve done on any car!
On the passenger side of the vehicle how does the cable fit into the latch?
I wasn’t able to inspect before removing the latch as the cable had popped out

How to unlatch passenger side bonnet latch when the cable is broken or untethered
For clarity. If you’re sat in the car this is the left hand side latch.
It is the latch which sits next to the manual, secondary bonnet release.
You will need:
Trouser belt
Bore camera (Depstech DS520)
Tent peg...
@t-tony I was considering that too.
Working underneath the car, get a long bit with hole saw and drill a 25mm (or whatever size) access hole in the black plastic air intake.
From there hopefully get a screwdriver or pry on the latch.
A slam panel is cheap. It’s a lot more work to fit though...
I’m going to get an endoscope (bore camera) and try and see what can be done.
I was hoping to reach around with something and hook the latch. I suspect it will need quite a lot of force though.
I’m reluctant to damage anything but if it needs to be done it will be.
I suspect the headlight will...
@DrWong what age car and what engine was this?
Do you remember if it was driver or passengers side latch? I assume driver’s as that’s the kidney grill you removed.
