New top is the only sensible solution here. The stitching has begun to perish as well. Getting 15-20 years out of a roof is good going

Also the cable from the microswitch can break with age as if routes through the roof frame. Very unlikely to be the motor imo

Looks very nice. Another one that hasn’t been used as much as it needs to have. I’d be looking for annual servicing irrespective of mileage

Be worth getting new inner and outer track rods whilst they are doing it..they are cheap and make a big difference to the steering feel

Another potential fire hazard is the headlight switch rheostat disintegrating. Dubious looking white powder under the dash might not be what you think it is 😀

I do like Impala brown .. not to everyone’s taste I’d admit. Not sure I would have spec’d that colour interior as well though

It does look good..but have fluids been changed regularly irrespective of use ? What about rubber bushes, shocks etc which deteriorate with age. The lack of use is not actually very good for it. I won’t comment on the price as like anything it’s worth what someone will pay. Good luck with your...
