  • Good morning Sean.
I have been reading your very interesting and detailed rebuild report on your Protonic Blue 2.0 car.
I got to the end of your story only to read ‘The End’
    What happened to the car?
    Regards

Hi Sean. Got a question about the 325i carrier upgrade. Bought a set but not sure if they are the right ones. Do you have any photos of the carriers with the stamps on them? Don't want to buy all the bits and not be able to fit.

    Thanks

Sorry pal, don't have any pics as cocked up and wiped my phone, I'll take a look on the few photos that are backed up, they are bigger but it not a massive difference
Hi Sean, been watching your thread on the Z's. I ve a 3.0 estoril blue that needs some paint. Do you take on these sort of jobs?. Regards Simon

Hi Sean how do I PM you on this site.
Hi Sean, I understand you may have replaced your z3 seat belt guides.
If so any tips? I believe you have to remove the seats then the back covers!

Hi Jon, yes, seats out and covers off, the guides are held on with 2 wolf clips, ease them of and you can re-use them

This job is quite straight forward, the biggest problem is removal and refitting the chairs, one at least as the guiderails distort or they slide to different lengths, troublesome when it comes to replacing the retaining nuts and bolts. Advise is to be gentle with the chairs getting them in and out - I have a piece on it in my workshop http://paragon.myvnc.com (car publication Z3) Good Luck!
I would just use a set of M wheels , but Im told they wont fit because of the shorter axle on the M. has anyone tried it and would it stick out farther than if you put on 20mm spacers like you have.

I have been looking into it recently and apparently you can fit Z4 hubs and that gives the clearance for deep dish wheels, they definately won't fit on a standard Z, they will fit a 1.9 but you need to fit the wide 2.8 rear wings

No but I'm niot really your man for wheels, try a thread on the open forum
need some help identifying some wheels. going through media posts, found two cars that have the look Im looking for. coffee 33 and Oldham1994. staggered look with polished flat area before the core of the wheel. wider flat polished area on the rear. I want that M look with the deep dish on the rear
I notice you post a a lot of pics and you changed your profile pic. Im not that tech savy, how do I change my profile pic
    Hi mate,
The 54k 3.0 is up for sale now on Gumtree!
    It’s not mine.
It looks nice. I know you have to look to see what they are like but that is the best one at the price out there.
I would rock up and be cheeky and offer 4.5 and poss end up at 4.8!
    You never know?

Looks like a well presented car mate but the wife would skin me alive, I am looking forward to saving the 2.8

Evening Rakesh, it was good to meet you and Anita today and hope to see you at some more meets, you have got yourself a decent Z there, good luck with changes you are about to make and remember they are fun as well as a possible investment,
    Regards, Sean

Yes you are absolutely right....I think it started as an investment but its turning out to be a lot more fun than I expected! There was some great inspiration today so I think there will be some time spent on it between now and next year. At the very least I'll have the engine bay cleaned up!
