I've ordered another one off AutoDoc for now and will keep my fingers crossed they deliver fast. Is real mixed bag in terms of delivery time but price is good and customer service the same in my experience... so far.
Thank you. According to AutoDoc, it's the right one for my car. But it's clearly not. I can return it easily enough.
This looks to be the correct one: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=CM11-EUR-01_1998_Z3_BMW_Z3_19&diagId=26_0105#26111227410
The one that AutoDoc sent me has a...
Ordered a replacement flex disc from autodoc and what has turned up is the wrong size. Mine has 12mm bolts whereas this one has only 10mm.
Can't see any other discussion on the forum of different size ones being available. Does anyone know the part number for one with the M12 bolts? Or are...
Setting out to do some upgrades and service items (and undo some of my own bodgery) and have hit a bit of an issue.
Ordered a replacement flex disc and bolts and it has come with M10 bolts. My old one has M12.
I can't find any reference to different sizes on here. And none of the listings...
FYI I have the same lights and mountings on my Z300S. Work a treat, though I am going to get them stripped and powder coated. They are not holding up well to the British weather!
Yep. Got some more electricals to do to finish up charging and add range but apart from that it's all cosmetics now. Oh, and I need to fit my refurbed front calipers. Then of course I'll want to do the back end ...
Thought I'd do a quick update with some pics on where I'm up to. Still a long way to go but I'm really happy with how it's looking.
New wheels are on (17in BBS split rims with 235x55 Nexen rubber, all done by Evolution Coatings in Irlam), new seats are repaired and installed (from BMW Spares...
Not looked at Realoem but I've done very extensive googling and can't even find a matching image of the connector that is on the seat. Going to go back to the lockup when I get a chance and have another look at my other seats and see if I can work it out from there.
Been putting some time - and money - into the interior while the weather has been too bad for working on the body. Finally fitted the subwoofer I restored (though it's not hooked up yet) and fitted the roll hoops I bought from @IainP (albeit I need to finish up the trim). All in the video that...
Belated little update: finally getting some bodywork done in the rare dry moments. It's not ideal working in a northern winter without a garage, but I do at least now have a gazebo in the back yard for the bits that I can fit in it/get down the alleyway.
I haven't taken any very good photos so...
For my next EV-swap project I'm probably going to need a taller diff than the default (3.43? Whatever is in a 1.9 auto from Japan). Obviously there are the taller options from the 2.8/3.0, but they are like hen's teeth and super pricey. e46 diffs though are very cheap.
So, would e46 internals...
