Thanks for the replies! I think i am going to get a kit with all the washers and new bolts and springs maybe next month.
Replacing the bearing and all that is something i REALLY want to avoid unless 100% neccessary, mechanic told me 300£ each side and it will take me 2weeks to do it myself and...

I found this kit that has washers and screws and everything I may need.
Hope my solution lasts a week until I can get this 😂
From what i found online Z3s didnt come with those washers but you can get them if the shield is rusted like mine.
Seems like a proper solution.
But will my temporary fix work? Even for a few months?
The sping is on the back of the shield with the head of the screw.
Which would mean that the handbrake shoe is getting pulled against the dust shield in exactly the same way by the spring only the spring is on the other end of the assembly with the scew head if that makes sense.
Force is still...
Hi,
I was replacing my rear brake discs and pads and the handbrake spring bolts fell off.
The alen bit of the screw with the spring seems to be made to go through the front and it basically hooks on the dust shield of the brake disc.
The problem is that probably due to rust the hole that this...
So all installed. With stainless bolts and nuts no leaks so far!
At the back I have a custom muffler it's two metal flanges not attached to the exhaust itself that you just tighten together with two bolts to attach the muffler to the middle section of the exhaust. There was no gasket before just...
One of the studs has been removed!!! 😂
I used an electric chisel drill I borrowed from a friend.
The other one still in it doesn't move with any hammer so I am going to make a cut on the side and see if anything changes.
While preparing the new exhaust I realized...
I got the wrong bracket 🤦...
I tried those bits with my friends professional drill and it only got that far and still they're stuck in.
They are stock they look exactly like the first picture. I am going to try an electric hammer drill with the chisel. It's a bit risky while the manifold is on the engine but I don't see any...
I am afraid that if I try to remove the manifold I will get 5 more broken studs and this time will be on the engine block and engine is rotated so will be hard to reach.
I am thinking of getting an electric chisel hammer drill and trying again.
I've spent almost 150£ on tools now 😂 manifold was 70£
Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is ok i havent visited the forum in a while.
I was changing my exhaust in my 1.9 z3, the middle part with the catalytic converter. It was broken inside and was rattling a lot.
I managed to break the studs because the nuts were practicaly welded from the rust and...
Thanks!
I know the engine number, i can even find used parts online but cant find too much information on rebuilding or even testing such pumps. I may need to risk it and just buy one and see if it is better than the one i already have.
It sits on top of the engine like the one in the BMW n43. The sound is coming from the module i think.
Part of the reason i am thinking its the pump is a recall for a similar pump from 2018 corolla and auri cars but i dont know.
MPG seems down since the noise started like 5mpg it seems and i am...
It is petrol. I have found some parts. The old pump for my car is now discontinued and 650£+. The slightly newer one is available from china on aliexpress, looks exactly the same but i am a bit scared to just buy it for 160£ and the be stuck with it and a broken car.
It is so frustrating that...
