    Spare tire

Greetings all! I wanted to post on the subject of the spare tire. Mine was 25 years old, flat and generally nasty. I decided to remove all spare-related parts. Tire, plastic tray and metal hanger. I probably saved around 40 lbs. from the rear of the car. I plugged all holes after the removal. If...

Comment by 'Handyman58' in article 'How to fix your BMW Z3 Rocking Seats (changing the bushes/bushings)'

Very helpful guide. I did mine and discovered the importance of the seat being all the way back. I had to carry the seat back to the car, hook it up and move the seat back. Lesson learned. Also, the cable connection at the front is a very difficult bugger. Much easier with a helper. I also...

Great idea for a problem that we all face. I use a foam pool noodle wrapped in a flannel pillowcase. I cut the noodle to fit the plastic window, and cut the end off of the pillowcase. The plastic window wraps around the noodle without any creases.

Thanks! I was thinking about motor mounts at the very least.

    Seeking advice.

Greetings all! I have a 2000 2.8 roadster. The oil pan gasket is leaking. I hate oil leaks! I’m going to have the gasket replaced by my bmw mechanic. What additional parts should I replace as long as it’s apart? Motor mounts? Any suspension parts? Oil pump? Thanks in advance for your...

Thanks! I think that I’m going to try to find a factory unit. CD43 is the original model?

    Factory stereo

Hi all! My factory stereo unit has been replaced with a regular am/fm cd unit. My car has the amp and subwoofer setup from original. I don’t think the sub is working, although there is sound coming out of the speaker. Would a stock stereo unit solve this? I’ve heard that aftermarket stereos...

Thanks for that information. I’m not wanting to spend $17 on one just yet.

    Part needed

Greetings! I’m wondering if those of you who are parting out Z’s have a couple of small bits available. I’m looking for the fastening wing nut that holds the tray in the trunk. On the right side. It’s the fastener that screws onto the spare tire cage. Item 2 is a tan ABS plug from the passenger...

    Wife says it’s too loud!

Greetings! My 2000 2.8 z has a straight through exhaust system with a resonator tip. It’s pretty easy to manage the loudness level with your right foot, but I’m getting complaints from the “management “, if you get my drift. Do you think that adding a muffler such as in the picture attached...

I saw an interesting YouTube about the poly bushings. I’m not interested in race versions, but maybe a regular type. I might go poly. Won’t wear out like rubber.
