I suspect I might have to replace one or more. I want to individually test them on the bench using a meter on Ohm setting, but can't find on YouTube which pins to test on a Z3. It's done over 100000 on original coilpacks, so probably worth replacing the lot. Any ideas on good aftermarket ones.

I turned the "T bar" on the pump to disable it. Thanks for the tip. When I put it down it goes down almost on its own, just a slight push and it goes right down. Putting it up again you have to pull it quite firmly, but no problem.

According to the Owners Manual I should be using a 0w - x / 5w-x . I don't understand this code. I'm assuming the x relates to an unknown and it refers to a range of oils. What make and would you recommend for a synthetic oil for a 2.8 Z3 ?

My soft top has again stopped working. The first time I had this problem not long ago, it was the brake switch. I replaced it and all was well. Recently it hasn't always immediately opened when I operate the switch to open it. It always closes fine and the motor sounds normal. Now it won't open...

Doh ! Got the relay off, but it is a 7 pin relay with different numbering system to the You Tube videos, so don't know how to test it.

I just Googled "how to test a relay" and found a good "talk you through" on You Tube from "Ratchets and Wrenches" so I have some testing to do tomorrow.

The indicator on the left hand side runs at twice speed. I replaced bulbs, checked and cleaned up earths with contact spray. They flash, but at twice speed.
